Belleville Baby –

World Premiere at Gothenburg International Film Festival

A few years ago, filmmaker Mia Engberg made headlines with her project Dirty Diaries, in which she produced feminist porn financed by Swedish state film funds. Her latest feature length film Belleville Baby tells the true story about love and loss, and will premiere at this year’s Gothenburg International Film Festival.

The film is nominated for Best Nordic Documentary at the Gothenburg Festival and Best Feature Length Documentary at the Stockholm Tempo Festival. It is one of the two Swedish documentaries selected for the Berlinale 2013.

In Belleville Baby, a phone call from a long lost lover makes her reminisce about their common past. He tells her he has been in prison for many years and asks to hear her memories from their time together. She remembers the spring when they met in Paris, the riots, the Vespa and the cat named Baby.
A film about love, time and things that got lost along the way.
