It is the twenty third film in the James Bond series and its theme song of the same name is rendered by Adele.
Being Daniel Craig's third performance as James Bond and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva as the main negative character. The film is shot on locations in the United Kingdom, China and Turkey.
In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
The British intelligence unit at MI 6 has been attacked and it transpires that it is part of an attack on M by former MI6 operative, Raoul Silva.
Skyfall also sees the re-emergence of Q (Ben Whishaw) and Miss Moneypenny (Naomie Harris), while it is the last film of the series for Judi Dench who plays M and dies in the climax of this electrifying thriller. Subsequently M will be replaced with Ralph Fiennes' character, Gareth Mallory.
It begins with MI6 agents James Bond and his assistant Eve who are on a mission in Turkey to recover a stolen computer hard drive that contains details of almost all undercover NATO agents in terrorist organizations. During the chase, and as per M’s order to take a shot, Eve shoots Bond in the shoulder is later considered “missing, presumed killed”.
Post this incident, immediately M has been summoned for a meeting with the Intelligence and Security Committee Chairman, Gareth Mallory where she is put under political pressure to retire. While returning to the MI6 offices, she finds MI 6 network is hacked and an explosion occurs in the offices, killing several MI6 staff.
Bond learns of the attack and returns to London and tracks the mercenary to Shanghai. After a scuffle with the mercenary, Bond finds a gambling chip which leads him to a casino in Macau. There he comes across the svelte Sévérine and then they travel to an island, where they are taken prisoner by the crew and delivered to Sévérine's employer, Raoul Silva – an ex MI6 agent who still holds M responsible for his torture and imprisonment by the Chinese.
Silva again escapes from the MI6 headquarters and now Bond realizes the danger to M’s life to he drives with her to his empty and remote childhood home in Scotland: Skyfall Lodge.
Skyfall is by far the best Bond films in the recent decades with dazzling cinematography, brimming with excitement and exceptional action sequences.
