“Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” is a quirky romantic comedy set
in the world of the upper middle class in Northern
India. Kush Agnihotri (Imran Khan) is looking for the
ideal Indian bride for his brother Luv Agnihotri (Ali
Zafar) who stays in London. One fine day, he realizes
that his life partner should be an ideal desi girl and
promptly asks his younger brother Kush to find that
perfect bride.
Kush is a 28 year old guy, from Dehra Dun and now
working in Mumbai as an assistant director in the film
industry. But his newest job is to find the ideal Indian
bride for his elder brother Luv Agnihotri, who lives in
London. After a long search, the sincere Kush eventually
succeeds in finding that right girl in Dimple Dixit.

If
there is one word to describe Luv Agnihotri (Ali Zafar)
it would be... He is a confused 30 year old bachelor.
This stylish Videshi babu, seemed to have it all. A
great job as an investment banker and a great life in
London. A Casanova at heart with a weakness only for a
pretty face.
Both the families meet. Formalities completed.
Preparations proceed in full swing. And just then, our
hero Kush falls in love with Dimple... his brother’s
dulhan and things start to get crazy.
There is much drama, marriage preparations, an item
number and then the act of bringing in the fourth
character of that of Tara D’Souza is entertaining.

In
his quest, Kush goes through an array of wacky encounters
with several families until he finally finds that perfect
girl in Dimple Dixit (Katrina Kaif), the craziest /
wackiest girl he has ever known.
Dimple Dixit (Katrina Kaif) is 27 and a classic case of
bahar se kuch aur, andar se kuch aur. Born in London, this
livewire has always believed in living life with no
boundaries yet she’s always remained a true desi at heart.
Dimple decides that she wants to finally settle down in
life and is on the lookout for a “rich sorted out
pack-age”.

The handsome Imran Khan is again restrained and the role
is apt for him. In contrast, Katrina Kaif acts over the
top wild cat as tailored in the role. The only overacted
part was that of the drunken Katrina acting as Veeru atop
an open vehicle. Other scenes where she misbehaves on the
scooter and taking up a pangaa with an auto rickshaw
driver was funny.
The first half has umpteen wedding preparations, and
entertaining, and the party begins with the arrival of Ali
Zafar and there is no holding him back. There are some
genuine comical moments and the story has unpredictable
series of events leading to a predictable happy ending.
